Consolidated Sponsors Business Summit on Being a More Productive Leader

Consolidated Insurance recently co-sponsored a business summit featuring renowned CEO and author Larry Linne. He is a former NFL player, the author of two books and the owner or co-owner of six different businesses.larry-linne-2

More than 100 business leaders were in attendance at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center to hear Larry speak on the topic of increased productivity.

Among the highlights:

  • A leader must be selfish! What percentage of your time do you spend doing what you do best? Identify and quantify the highest and best use of your talent, and do more of it. This will result in a more productive organization which is better for you, your employees, and your community. Being selfish actually leads to being selfless.
  • Just as your business has a brand, so too do you: what do people think of when your name comes up? What do you want them to think of, and what are the behaviors and actions that you can live by to make that happen?
  • Clarity as to the purpose of your organization is vital. Everyone in the organization must be able to clearly identify its purpose, and your behavior must align with that purpose.
  • Planning: goal-setting is critical for a three- to five-year plan, and go ahead and make a one-year plan for budgeting purposes. BUT: we live in a 90-day world, and things change too fast to plan details a year at a time. Take one day each quarter to review and revise your planning.

Here’s some of the feedback we received from those in attendance:

“I wanted you to know I enjoyed listening to your guest speaker Larry Linne. Solid ideas to incorporate in your life from a successful person – I am thinking about improving PRODUCTIVITY.”
-Ernie Vaile, Webb Mason

“Just wanted to say thank you for your invitation to the Consolidated event Thursday afternoon. Larry Linne was a terrific speaker. Everyone at Consolidated is to be commended for the initiative and forward thinking you offer, not just to your clients, but to the community. And not just about insurance, but about success and prosperity in business and life.”
